October 15, 2012 Inside Scoop on Trip to Berlin

Well, here´s the inside scoop!

1.  Give me the scoop on your trip to Berlin.
So we got a ride up to where the Bus was going to meet us and met up with some of the other members. It was actually a really long bus ride and I slept for a little bit of it. We then got to Berlin and I got to see some former MTC buddies. We talked for a while and of course reminisced. It was fun. Then we got to hear from President Monson.

My thoughts on the talk were not what I expected. It was a push to reach out to those who are lost. I am not sure why I was expecting something different, but I was.

We then got a ride from the Dörlitz family and had a good time going back home. It was definitely a long day.

2.  How is Elder Anderson? I think he is sick right now.

3.  Where is he from, etc? He is from Lehi actually and I don´t know much else other than that.

4.  How was Elder Birth when he left?  Is it weird to think that he's home now?
Oh man, he was so ready to go home. I don´t really know what to think about it. Its more of an unbelief that he went anywhere other than another area. Haha.

5.  Do you get to ride in a car since Elder Anderson is a Zone Leader?
No, we still have the Bahn cards.

6.  How are the Kempes?
They are doing well, they decided to take another day in Berlin from the advice of President Schwartz.

7.  Are you doing anything fun for p-day?
Hah, no. I am going to be taking a nap. I am so exhausted.

8.  How long did it take you to travel to Berlin?
A couple of hours.

9.  Did you take any pictures?
I got a couple of them, but not very many. I will see about sending them to you.

10.  Does Elder Anderson have any different ideas for finding investigators?
No, he is willing to try other things like using the current situation in the presidential race as a way to generate interest.

11.  Are you teaching anyone?
Yeah, we got in contact with a former investigator and found a couple others that we made appointments out with.

12.  What's for lunch today?
Hm, no idea. Probably some rice thing that I will make. I am getting lazy with coming up with new things to make.

13.  Do you still eat doners?
Not very often actually. I still like them though.

14.  How's your exercise/nutrition plan since you've had a couple of companions since Elder Johnson?
Well, I have gained 4 kilos again. I can´t maintain anything out here. I am just going to wait until I get home to start.

15.  What are you reading for your scripture study?
I am hopping around in the Book of Mormon.

16.  Has your daily routine changed at all since you are now with a Zone Leader?
He likes planning lots into our days...It's gotten busier. Somehow he got some ideas from President Uchtdorf. I highly doubt that I got the same ideas that he got.

17.  Do you think you will do more splits since Elder Anderson may have to travel around?
Yes actually I have 9 splits to do during the next 35 days.

18.  Who are the other Elders in your district?
Yes there is a golden in Werdau but I don´t know him very well.

19.  Did you get any goldens this transfer?
I am not sure what you are asking...

20.  What is the busiest time of your day?
ALL DAY.

21.  Do you get any down time?
Hah, never. I am currently trying to get some down time during the evening when Elder Anderson likes to do area book work.

22.  Have you heard any of the local German youth at church talk about the new mission age?
Actually, I haven´t. There aren´t any youth that are preparing to go on a mission.

23.  Do you think you would have liked to go on your mission at 18?
No way. I would have been a terrible missionary. Not to mention how immature I would have been.

Have a great week, and I will see about sending those pictures off.
